How does SPIN SWIM work?

SWIM takes high-resolution phase and magnitude MRI data from a disk or auto-routed from a scanner. After loading the data, SWIM uses eddy correction to correct the center of K-space, brain extraction to remove the non-brain tissue, phase unwrapping, background field removal to remove the inhomogeneity of the background and applies an invert filter to generate the susceptibility map.

 

In just ONE minute,  SWIM returns the processed data for 6 cases each  of which can be used to evaluate microbleeds and iron content in vivo, to better understand its behavior in normal and disease states.
